Sacroiliac (SI) dysfunction is a condition that causes irritation to the soft tissues (ligaments and muscles) surrounding the SI joints, as well as the joint itself. Your therapist or physician can explain the particulars regarding your dysfunction. There are several things you should avoid during your rehabilitation, which will reduce stresses on the SI joints.
Avoid excessive forces or weight bearing on one leg.
Avoid crossing the ankle over the knee.
Avoid climbing stairs.
Men should remove thick wallets from the rear pocket.
