A home exercise program is one of the most valuable pieces of information that you can receive from your physical therapist. The purpose of the home program is to:
* Empower the patient to have more of an active role in their rehab program. * Enable the patient to improve strength & range of motion between sessions in order to progress treatments more safely & quickly. * Promote confidence that the patient is able to perform activities that they thought were otherwise unsafe or inappropriate.
The home program must be well written and detailed with respect to frequency, repetitions, and rest intervals and must be updated periodically to reflect patient perfomance levels.
